Changing a company’s registered address in Latvia can be changed on two bases; either through the company’s application or the decision of the local government. This is accrued to some processes which follow after the company’s application.

Checking the Address

To start the application, the registered office address of the company entered in the commercial register is used to make the official communication. The management board at the registered office ensures that all correspondence is received. 

The enterprise register place conditions on changing the address of a registered office, with these conditions, the management board of the company can register its address to be entered in the commercial register, they include:

  1. The registered office matches the address in the State Address Register. The Verification of the free address is carried out on the State Address Register website kadastrs.lv Information System;
  2. The address can only be registered in a building or group or premises (apartment), it cannot be registered in a property consisting solely of the land;
  3. Immovable property that consists of many groups of premises should specify the number of the group of rooms in which the registered office is located;
  4. The application should demonstrate if the business is reachable and legally permitted to be at the given legal address.

Completing the registration form

To make changes, there will be a need for authorization. This means the application form (KR18) is signed by the management board of the company, and the signature from an authorized person grants a go-ahead to make relevant changes. 

Paying the fees

For the application for registration to be submitted, the Enterprise Register ensures the state fee is paid into the treasury account. Immediately after the Enterprise Register verifies the account is credited, the registration can go on.

It can be paid through a transfer to any bank 2 days before the submission of the documents, it can be submitted through the means of electronic or post. The registration is in different phases

Registration within 3 working days

The amount for a change is EUR 20,00, paid into the designated account, it is necessary for the payment, a mandatory registration number (if any), and the title and service for which the payment is made to be specified. 

If two or more changes are made, the amount is EUR 40,00, it is necessary for the payment, a mandatory registration number (if any), and the title and service for which the payment is made to be specified. 

Registration for 1 working day

The state fee for 1 change is EUR 60,00, paid into the treasury account, it is necessary for the payment, a mandatory registration number (if any), and the title and service for which the payment is made to be specified. 

If two or more changes are made, the state fee is EUR 120,00, paid into the treasury account, it is necessary for the payment, a mandatory registration number (if any), and the title and service for which the payment is made to be specified. 

To Submit the Documents

After every condition required is met, the management board or any authorized person submits the application and documents to be attached to it. This can be done by 

  1. E-service online 
  2. Electronically signed in e-address or e-mail
  3. By post
